Our Mission 🚀

We noticed that the big tuition companies were lacking one thing. Their tutors lacked a meaningful and personal connection with their students. They use a "one size fits all" model to mass teach hundreds of students, leading to many students still feeling lost and confused because their tutor was too busy to care.

How do we know this? We used to work in these big tuition companies ourselves and found it incredibly unfulfilling that all the students, except the ones that were already achieving top marks of course, were paying money to virtually experience no change in their marks.

We started Accelerate HSC because we wanted to create a Physics tutoring experience that addresses your needs, regardless if you're top of the pack or falling behind. This doesn't come without hard work. Our tutors put in extra time beyond class hours to help our students because they genuinely care about their progress and goals (I've heard stories of Geoffrey spending 2 hours on a student's depth study...it's wild).

This is why, despite being a fairly new tuition program, many of our students have already achieved top marks in such a short period of time. The big companies have taken years to produce substantial results.

Academically, our mission is to foster students' critical thinking, because as high achievers ourselves, we know that this is the key to top marks in the HSC.

We have crafted a program that focuses on concept-driven learning. This changes the way you think and cultivates critical thinking, so that you are prepared to respond in a logical manner in exams (rather than regurgitating rote information).

The reason why this is so effective is because the HSC is a dynamic exam, meaning that the same questions are never exactly repeated year after year, forcing students to adapt and think on the fly. As a result, students who rote learn are naturally unable to apply themselves in different scenarios, leading to poor marks. This was reflected in a 2010 study at the US Military Academy which found that professors who taught on courses with an emphasis on concept-driven learning had their students outperform their peers.
